I suppose an explanation is in order:
On 07 October 2008 we (my cat & I) kicked off this group in grand fashion.
We even held a 'Criterion Party', (I with my Courvoisier, and she with her
catnip mouse.) It was a very private affair, without fanfare.
I felt it fitting that Criterion spine #1 (Grand Illusion) should get the top
honors.
The main problem with a new group is that it has no retention. It needs to build
a 'critical mass' first, and so it began falling off the server within a week.
The reason that the .NZBs still work is because the Egyptian Goddess was
prescient enough to know that, and so the first two months of posts were also
x-posted to a.b.dvd.
Since no one was watching, I also incorporated an 'article size test' in this
operation. What this taught us was that sub-premium NSPs had a difficult time
with the 4044.8 KB articles. (A subsequent shaving of 200 KB seemed to fix their
problem.)
And so as time permits, I thought I would repost those first few weeks once
more. They are over 300 days old anyway, and so now seems like a good time.
I will post the new .NZBs to this group when they are completed. If you wish to
monitor their progress, you can do so here:
