The PowerPost version I checked was "A&A-v11b" * and found it reuses
the original MID but adds a single digit "1" left of the @.

I also found Astraweb accepted the duplicate article and Agent1.93 and
Altbinz used it to complete this 8 part post.
For a poster to have the option of reposting only the missing parts
instead of doing a full repost they'd need to know which ones those
were. News readers like Agent show that information. For example:
[This is a multi-part message, of which only 28 of 29 parts are
available.]
[These parts are unavailable: 20]
