In the summer of 2005, while on a mission to assassinate a leading member of al-Qaeda, a crack team of Navy Seals was ambushed in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. What followed was a frantic search-and-rescue assignment conducted by reservists from the US Air Force. The documentary series meets the members of this response team, discovering how they used a state-of-the-art chopper to locate and recover the single survivor of the failed operation.

Following the American siege of Baghdad in 2003, the British military made its move on Basra, sending troops across the desert from Kuwait to engage the 50 Iraqi tanks thought to be stationed in the city's suburbs. In this documentary, Lt Cdr James Newton of the 847 Naval Air Squadron recalls how he piloted a Westland Lynx chopper at the forefront of Britain's assault, and was forced into a tense showdown with an unseen enemy tank in an effort to protect the infantrymen who would soon be entering Iraqi cross-hairs. Last in the series.
