Add to that the aimless surfing you do.
Add to that FaceBook prattling.
Add to that YouTube gazing.
Add to that popups that run when you aren't looking.
Multiply that by the amount of teenagers in your house.
(I just had visions of the BigPuddle ad on TV here, where there is a
connection to the Internet in every room of the house.....scary!)
It's starting to get close to that 250gig of INTERNET usage that you
don't seem to think you use, yessums?
I read Macronesus' missive to mean "Internet Usage" total.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Not just slanging off at newsgroups.
If one could save on bandwidth in newsgroups, would that not free up
precious gigs to go surfing elsewhere??

Didn't other ISP's (USA) drop newsgroups as too expensive and
wasteful? Citing "pornography" as the official reason, so as not to
upset subscribers?
Next comes capping...... company profits increase.... others take
notice and adjust their limits accordingly.
What happens when Internet speeds increase and 250gig is 5 minutes of
downloading??
I remember my first computer was an 8MEG hdd - TOTAL!!, now it's
160GIG....... and I was told "8meg is shedfuls, you will never use
that up". ROFL
Technology stands still for no Man, and Comcast is preparing
themselves for the day when speed WILL kill them.

I had to explain to a girlfriend how her two teenage daughters used a
capped 400meg in two days......./laff
And they were ASLEEP for at least 16 hours and at SCHOOL for 13 hours
of those two days!!!!
THAT was Internet usage only, no newsgroups. I don't think it would be
wise to introduce those girls to the wonders of the music and DVD
groups - /grin
