Survivor 18 <happy2b@home.net>:sayth:

mmmmmmmm... short answer?
A number of things a true survivor would not do.

Really any REQ starts with *you* the requestor.
As much as a poster has to think about what they post,
the requestor has a responsibility to also put thought to
making the request.
I been around a while so I figured what you were after..
loooong before HD posted that file to ABCP. Something
the lady should not have done. We have had our issues with
"Battle of the Warez".. ABCP gained nothing.
I digress...
Winzip is not going to help you in ABCP or indeed in
the majority of Usenet binary froups.
Simply put... Winzip is redundant.
The tool required for packing files is WinRaR.
There is a "good to go" copy in the tutorials posted.

Buuut lets assume you have another use for Zip format,
and do indeed require a war3z upload/file retrieval.
What do you do?
There are a number of people lurking here who have quite
extensive collections of war3z. A request that went like
"Is someone able to upload a working copy of Winzip
somewhere and point me to it, please".. is the safest course
of action for everyone.

Do the REQ how you did and you see the result.
A newbie poster who thinks they are "doing the right thing"..
(and only because they haven't read the advice published in the tutorials)
pumps a readily available chunk of war3z into ABCP.. brilliant..NOT.

Slip over to <alt.binaries.dominion.moms.computer>
and look for:
Subject: ere come de mail with  - Envelope.n.Stamp.zip (1/6)
That post is a "no registration required" copy of Winzip ver8.1

To get the tutorials downloaded you can do what you are doing
now and use a trial version of WinRaR. Downloads are everywhere
on the Net.
I would strongly advise you do that rather than continue with
WinZip, particularly if you are that same person posting designs
in Zip format here (ABCP).. this site is arching those posts, forever it seems.
