First off- I am sorry to have called you an "asshole" if you have been
a regular poster here or anywhere else! (Thanks for your posts!)
Second- I didn't mean to "flame" any poster! So please accept my
appology! Third, when I said "complainers (aka assholes)" I meant the
t-r-o-l-l-s! We all know that t-r-o-l-l-s are the worst thing that
can happen to ANY group and when t-r-o-l-l-s first start their little
war, they start by "complaining" and then they try to get everyone
else in that group to turn against one another- especially if that
group is strong (or growing strong) but especially if that group is at
"peace" and the posting continues- that's when they strike the hardest
because they can't stand a "successful group!"
So when you have a group where a few posters are posting whatever they
choose to post and then you get nothing but complaints from "regular
people" (some disguised as t-r-o-l-l-s) the posters tend to disappear
one by one- and then everyone else (lurkers) simply stare at an empty
group day after day and wonder "where have all the posters gone?"
(And I am NOT saying that every person who makes a complaint is a
t-r-o-l-l so don't flame me for that! But how many t-r-o-l-l-s start
out by making complaints?)
One good example of this happened awhile back in another group- a
"good guy" came in and started to post all kinds of stuff- but then he
started to complain about everything and then demanded the PWs for
other posts and the names of other groups and started leaving his
posts 'half finished." He basically turned into an "asshole" almost
overnight. No dought he was indeed a t-r-o-l-l! You may be familiar
with this guy? Does the name "hippo" ring a bell?
Anyway, all I am saying here is let the posters post whatever they
want- we should all be grateful that they are posting in the first
place! If others don't like what they post then simply leave! I mean
if you stumble into a group where the only postings you see are of
flowers and shrubs and the discussions are all about gardening and
being a "green thumb" (and you HATE gardening) what can you do? One,
you can start complaining to all the posters about why they are
posting gardening "crap" instead of what YOU want posted. (As if they
would care anyway.) Two, you can set up a list of rules for the group
(aka FAQ) and hope everyone there will listen and follow what you ask
for. Or three, you can leave the group and move on to another.
(There are so many groups out there that have content that I don't
like so I simply leave! It's that simple! Why start a war?)
That's all I am saying here- there are so many complainers out there
that force good posters to move somewhere else- are they really
complainers or do they have a "hidden agenda" to disrupt the group?
(aka t-r-o-l-l-s?) And sometimes we are lucky enough to find where
the posters went and other times we never seem to find them. Some
posters then start to PW their posts (because of the "complainers") so
their posts are as good as nothing to most people.
Hope this makes sense- and again I am sorry if I offended you or any
other poster in my previous reply- I was just trying to make a point:
